  1. What is a reason that the Bible is under such attack?
    1. One of the reasons the Bible is under attack is because it makes extraordinary claims such as its own inspiration, that it alone describes the true God, prophecies and their fulfillment, and the person of Christ who claimed to be God in flesh.

       
       
  2. What does the word "canon" mean in reference to the Bible?
    1. The word "canon" means "standard" or "rule" and it refers to the accepted books of the Old and New Testament scriptures.


       
  3. I what year did the Roman Catholic church add the additional books of the apocrypha to the Bible?
    1. The Roman Catholic church added the apocrypha to the Bible in 1546.



       
  4.  How many people and how long did it take to write the Bible?
    1. The Bible was written by about 40 men in about 1600 years dating from 1500 B.C. to about 100 A.D.



       
  5. What is the Septuagint?
    1. The Septuagint is the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament. The word is derived from the Latin word septuaginta which mans "seventy."  Therefore, the Septuagint is often referred to as LXX.
