Lesson 01.05

Bible Difficulties, Answers

  1. What is a contradiction?
A contradiction occurs when one statement makes another statement impossible when both statements deal with the same topic at the same time.  Most alleged contradictions in the Bible are quickly removed when this rule is applied.

  2. What are two things you should be aware of when dealing with contradictions.
Define what a contradiction is and always check the context.  There are other things you can do -- as are listed.

  3. What should you do when someone says that the Bible has contradictions in it?
Ask the person to document the alleged contradictions so you can check them out.  Often times the person won't have an example.  But if he/she does, then look at the context and see if you can figure it out.  If you can't, then tell the person you want to get back in touch with him with the answer after you research it.
