Lesson 01.04

Knowing what you believe

It should go without saying that you should know what you believe and why you believe it. The foundation of proper thinking is truth and if you do not know what you believe biblically, then you will not be able to adequately recognize error of others in your defense and establishment of the Christian faith.  Do you know the answers to the following basic questions?

  1. Do you know what the Trinity is?
  2. How many natures does Jesus have?
  3. Is Jesus a man right now?
  4. What is imputation?
  5. What is justification?
  6. What is sanctification?
  7. Does God change?
  8. Does truth contradict itself?

CARM is here to help you answer those questions and others in order to help you put flesh and blood on truth so that it might have practical relevance. Truth is not merely a conceptual venture. Truth has application and ultimately reflects the majesty and wonder of God's beauty. CARM aims to help you understand what biblical truth is and how to apply it in the course of your everyday lives as well as help others to see the truth of God's Word.
But you cannot do this you do not know the Bible teaches. You need to know your basic Christian theology because that is the foundation of truth on which all critical thinking should be based.  If you are weak and your theology, then read CARM and/or, if you have not already, sign-up for the school of theology.
Do you know what you believe and why?
