You have a distorted view of the Latter-day Saints
Email:
Well I'm not going to lash out at you or anything, but I
just feel like you have a distorted view towards the
Latter Day Saints. I read what you wrote and you started
talking about how we believe Christ is merely a member
of our church or something like that. I was curious if
you have ever been to a Mormon Sacrament meeting during
fast and testimony meeting. If you have you would
realize that most solid members of our church testify
about Christ and he is the one that we "love and most
serve" as you put it from the bible. Then you started
going on about how we celebrate sin and therefore must
be ungodly, which is offending and I don't understand
how you would expect people not to get mad about that.
I'm not going to try and lash out at you or call you
stupid, but would Christ really want you trying to tear
someone's religion down? Do you really think you are
doing what's right? I mean if you feel that way, fine
continue with what you think. But, can't you leave us
alone? I mean I have a solid testimony in my Church and
in my Prophet Gordon B Hinckley, but my testimony would
mean nothing without have the solid believe in Christ
that I have. Our church is all about tolerance to other
religions and we don't try to tear other people's faiths
down. We are good people and just to let you know our
foundation of our Church is Jesus Christ, its in the
name, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I
really hope that you would really think twice before
attacking someone's religion and beliefs like that. You
say that you are a follower of Christ and I believe you.
But I want to ask you a question. If you are trying to
live like Christ in every aspect, why attack someone's
faith? I can't find a single example of Christ trying to
tear down someone's beliefs that are good and virtuous.
Response:
I do not mean to offend you in any way. I can understand why you think I
have a distorted view of your church. But I have studied it a great
deal over many years. I have also studied the Bible and great deal.
We could exchange testimonies, but mine would contradict yours. Furthermore, I have a very strong testimony ended contradict yours. What this tells us is that testimonies are not the way to determine truth. Basically, a testimony is a feeling. Even though you claim it is from God, there is no guarantee that it is. If you are praying to a false god, then you will receive a false testimony and you will believe it. Since Mormonism denies the true God, I conclude that your testimony is not true. The final authority on spiritual truth is the Bible. But since your church undermines the authority and reliability of the Bible, like Eve, you will be susceptible to deception. Why do I write about Mormonism? The reason I
write about Mormonism is because if you die in Mormonism, you will go to
hell and I do not want you or anyone else to go to hell. Let me
eight again. If you die
believing in the Mormon God, the Mormon Jesus and the Mormon gospel,
you will not reach exaltation. You will not reach universal
resurrection. The only destiny you will have is eternal suffering in
hellfire. What is the truth? Instead, the Bible teaches that there is only one God in all
existence in all place and in all time (Isaiah 43:10;
44:6,8;
45:5,14,18,21,22). Therefore, Mormonism is
wrong about the doctrine of many gods. Furthermore, Jesus is not the
brother of the devil or of you and I begotten between God and his
goddess wife in the preexistence. Finally, the true gospel is that
there is only one God in all places and in all time, that God is a
Trinity of persons, not three God (as Mormonism teaches). Jesus Christ, who is
second person of the Trinity in flesh, died on the cross for our sins.
In contradiction to this, Mormonism teaches that the atoning work of
Christ occurred in the Garden of Gethsemane. This is a blatant
denial of the Scriptures that teach us that Christ died on the cross
for our sins because that is where he bore our sins (1 Pet. 1:24).
