________________________________ BUSY PAST COUPLE OF
WEEKS
Things here at CARM have really been hopping. The last two weeks, CARM set
two new records on visitors on the home page for a one-week period: 20,600
last week! This means that in a one-week period, the Home Page was
accessed over 20,000 times.... and that is not counting the rest of the site!
I suspect that in a year or so, I'll have to purchase a high speed server to
handle the extra increase in traffic which I expect to be between 25,000 and
30,0000 visits a week. Praise God.
I put up a graph at
http://www.carm.org/carm/graph.htm
so that you can see the rate of increase of hits for a weekly periods beginning
in June of '96. You'll notice that CARM is doing very well and the number
of hits per week is increasing. Praise God. In fact, the emails are
increasing again and I spend one to two hours a day just answering those.
It cuts into my research time but that's the way it goes. I only have so
much I can do after my job and on weekends. But, Lord willing, in a couple
years, I hope to be full time in CARM.
BTW (by the way), when
you go to CARM, can you please remember to go to the Home Page at least once per
visit so that you can be counted? Thanks.

DO YOU WANT TO HEAR THE RADIO SPOT FOR CARM CONVENTION?
Kevin Harris, one of the speakers at the upcoming CARM convention, works at a
Christian radio station in the Dallas, Fort Worth area. He put together a
radio spot that we want to air on his radio station prior to the convention.
He told me that at any one time, 100,000 people are listening to the station
because it is the fifth largest Christian radio market in the world. It
is very cost effective.
We are asking for
donations to cover the cost of placing the ad -- at $75 dollars a minute for
each radio spot -- for the convention. It will be placed during the Bible
Answerman show which has a huge listening audience. To listen to the demo
radio spot (68 seconds long- and to be shortened) go to http://www.carm.org/audio/carm1.wma
(Windows Media Player) or http://www.carm.org/audio/carm1.rm
(Real Player). There are two inside jokes, though, in the ad:
Mormonism teaches abstinence from coffee and atheists universally compare God to
invisible pink unicorns. The unicorn thing is a standard come back from
atheists who say that God can't be proven the same as you can't prove the
existence of invisible pink unicorns. Hope you enjoy it. If you do,
please email me back, let me know what you think and I'll forward the comments
to Kevin.
If you like the ad and
want to contribute to having it run on the air beginning about two weeks prior
to the event, then please send any donation about you want to CARM (RADIO SPOT),
PO BOX 461054, Escondido, CA, 92046-1054. Please mark your donation (Radio
Spot). I will collect them all, and send a CARM check to the radio station
and whatever we have is how many ads will run. One more thing: Kevin
is a very strong supporter of CARM and says that he can really get a good deal
on how many times the ad will run for the money sent in. Praise God.

CARM CONVENTION
The CARM convention will be on Saturday, June 22nd in Colleyville, Texas.
Registration begins at 8:30; lectures begin at 9:00AM and the event ends at 4pm.
The link for it has been changed to http://www.carm.org/carm/convention.htm
where you can read more about the ten speakers (including me). Topics are
still being decided but should range from atheism, to apologetics, to the cults,
to relativism, to logic, etc. It'll be good. We really have some
good godly speakers. With 20 rooms and a main sanctuary to work with, this
will be a busy convention with lots of subjects to choose from. If you
can't make it, we should have tapes and videos available afterwards on CARM.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT UPDATE
Many of you have been contributing to CARM in various ways. I wanted to
thank you all for your efforts and sacrifice. The Lord will bless you for
it.
So far, with notebook
sales, monthly donations, CD sales, etc., CARM is bringing in over $11,000 a
year. It isn't enough to go full time, but it is increasing slowly.
If you feel led to help financially, great! If not, that's fine.
But, please remember this ministry in your prayers as it is coming under more
attacks from people. I am receiving more hate-mail. In fact, if you
want to read some of it, go to http://www.carm.org/more/lovehate.htm.
Remember, CARM is a non-profit organization and all contributions are tax
deductible. If you want to contribute, please go to http://www.carm.org/goods/donations.htm.
You can set up a monthly credit card donation or make a one time offering.
It is easy to set up. Please pray about it and, hopefully, help out.

PRAYER REQUESTS
If you care to, please remember the CARM convention in your prayers. It
needs to be under-girded with prayer. Also, my wife needs prayers.
She has had developing medical problems for several years and lately they have
gotten worse. She has Marfan Syndrome (a connective tissue disorder) and cyliac
spru (allergy to all things with wheat in them). To make a long story
short, she is in increasing joint pain, with a variety of related problems
throughout her body: TMJ, scoliosis, mitral valve prolapse, esophageal
reflux, the bone density of a 100+ year old person (and a new cracked rib), and
she's married to a wacko Christian apologist. We don't have medical
insurance for her or myself (the kids are covered though), so it is a tough
ride. But, the Lord is good and sustaining us.
I don't mention this very
often at all, but lately.... she's needed prayer. Please pray.

VERSE OF THE WEEK.
Isaiah 58:11 “And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in
scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered
garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail," (NASB).
