Contradiction

A contradiction is a condition where one (or more) statement denies the possibility of another statement being true when those statements are about the same thing and are understood in the same sense. It is an inconsistency between statements. For example, both of the following statements cannot both be true in the same sense and in the same way: 1) I am presently not wearing reading glasses. 2) I am presently wearing reading glasses.
