Dark Matter is the theoretical material that exists in space that does not emit or reflect light. It is theorized to exist based on the perceived effects it is supposed to exert upon visible forms of matter like galaxies. Some scientists theorize that up to 90% of the material in space is composed of Dark Matter. Presently, it is not known exactly what Dark Matter is.
