Edify is understood as to build up. In the Christian context, it means to strengthen someone or be strengthened in relation to God, the Christian walk, and holiness. As Christians, we are to “let all things be done for edification” (1 Cor. 14:26). We are edified by the Word of God (Acts 20:32) and by love (1 Cor. 8:1).
