Heredity

Heredity

Heredity is the passing to offspring physical characteristics held by the parents. It is the transmission of genetic information through procreation where the descendants obtain that information. For example, a parent with blonde hair can pass that genetic information for blonde hair to his or her children. Heredity is also considered to be the total amount of genetic information contained in an organism that can be passed to its descendants.
