A meter is a unit of measurement in the metric system. It is equivalent to 39.37 inches (Imperial System). The meter is supposed to be exactly one ten-millionth of the distance from the equator on the earth to its pole as measured across the curvature of the earth. It is also a measurement of music into bars.
