Pharaoh

pharaohPharaoh was a ruler in ancient Egypt. The word “pharaoh” was a Hebrew word used to designate the King of ancient Egypt. The word occurs over 220 times in the Bible, three references in the New Testament (Acts 7:10; 7:13; Rom. 9:17). In ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh was considered to be a god.

The Israelites were enslaved by Egypt.
